P1-B

P1-B

Twitter, Instagram and Facebook all have different content in each social media app and unique selling points.

Instagram is unique in the way that it is an image-centred app were users take pictures of the app and post them on Instagram, you can choose from different filters to put on your picture and can write a status below, as well as hash tagging. Instagram is slightly different in comparison to Facebook and Twitter on what platforms you can access it on as Instagram is purely available on smartphones. In addition, celebrities have blue ticks above their name on the app and you can ‘follow’ them and look at what pictures they put on.

This is an example of someone’s Instagram post, they have put a black and white filter on and their name is clearly seen from the top right.

When someone likes your picture it comes up on the notification page as seen on the right.

Facebook: Facebook has a timeline- this is where all your friends post status’ pictures and their shared posts and videos. Facebook is also popular for businesses to create their own page and advertise on. Also you can play games such as Farmville and Candy Crush.

This screenshot shows a user’s homepage, their friends posts are shown on their timeline and the top bar features their inbox and settings bar. Facebook  is available on smartphones and computer too.

Twitter:

Twitter features the opportunity to microblog, text eachother through your personal messages bar and write tweets up to 140 characters. Also, you can retweet other users content and share your own pictures. If you are a celebrity, you will have a blue tick above your name, which is similar to Instagram and is easy for users to know who is a celebrity.

This is a screenshot of a twitter homepage. Down the right are peoples tweets and things they have retweeted, if you hashtag, it will turn blue and when you click on it, it will come across with all tweets mentioning that hashtag, which is easy for trying to find something in particular.

The top left is where your profile is and if you click on it a full preview of your page will come up. Twitter is available on smartphones and computer too.
